Stay Strong for the Prize that Lies Ahead

 “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.
 The Lord is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation;
this is my God, and I will praise him,
my father's God, and I will exalt him.
 The Lord is a man of war;
the Lord is his name."

God is the King of all and as so has the power to do anything.  He is an all powerful God and an all knowing God.  Some people I have talked to in my life have said to me, "If your God is all powerful and can do anything then why did he let himself be murdered?  Or if he is all powerful, why doesn't he stop all the sick, the homeless and the those in pain and dying from being in their pain?"

The answer to that is tricky.  The truth is, that God can do anything but he chooses not to; and in some situations I would even say he can't do some things, such as God cannot do evil because he chooses not to.  God also has a plan and as humans we cannot understand or know the time and purpose of God's plans.  Can the made comprehend the maker?  Or is the maker always more knowledgeable then the made because he designed the made?  Everything in our own life is a choice.  I think as people living in a sinful world our biggest temptation is to trust in ourselves and to rely on our own judgment.  We think that we can take care of ourselves, but the truth is, is that we cannot take care of ourselves.  We are not God even though sometimes we get caught up thinking that we are even subconsciously.

In my life it is a great struggle to trust in God and rely on him for everything, but I constantly have to remind myself that while all the people that are in my life have let me down and continue to do so everyday, Jesus Christ will never let me down.  He died on the cross to wash away my sins to make it possible for me to be with him.  He loves me more then anyone in this world ever will and he is always with me.

What I need to focus on is every day is asking God to lead me and guide me through my day.  Ask him to be a part in my life and share the things that I go through day to day with him.  Jesus is a living breathing God and just because I can't see him doesn't mean he isn't there.  I can't see the wind, but I know its there, I can feel it.  It's the same thing with the Holy Spirit.  I can feel God's presence in my life and I know he is always right beside me.

Its amazing what happens when we open ourselves up and let the Holy Spirit direct our paths.  I hear God talking to me while I'm listening to the radio and I hear him through my friends and family and even strangers passing words and ideas into my life.  God is everywhere.  As his people we need to trust in him and let his light lead our lives.  Jesus loves us and even though we can't see him and talk face to face with him yet, we still have the opportunity to talk to him in other ways just like he has the opportunity to talk to us through others.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for being constant in my life.  Thank you for never giving up on me and teaching me that giving up isn't an option unless its for healthy reasons.  I pray Lord, for your wisdom and guidance in my life and that you lead me down the path you have planned for my life.  I pray that you continue to show me who you are.  I want to know you Lord and I want to persevere through this life and be with you in the life yet to come.  Use me for your will and continue to humble me so that I can serve others with a joyful heart.

In your holy and precious name,

Scripture -

Genisis 18:11-12 "Abraham and Sarah were already old and well advanced in years, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing.  So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, 'After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?'"

Genesis 21:6-7 "Sarah said, 'God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.'  And she added, 'Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age."

Genesis 19:16 "When he (Lot) hesitated, (to leave Sodom and Gomorrah for God was going to destroy it) the men (two angels) grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the LORD was merciful to them."

Genesis 22:14 "So abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide.  And to this day it is said, 'On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.'"

God is merciful to all of us.  We deserve hell, yet he has mercy on us.  God makes promises to us and we doubt him, he is always with us, yet we continue to doubt his word.  He has started something in each of our lives and it is our job to listen and to have faith that he will do what he says that he will do.  Our God is not just merciful but he is also faithful to us even though we are not faithful to him.

In my life I need to have more faith in God.  I need to trust that he has a plan for my life and a plan for all the things that he is working in in my life.  God is working in me and through me and I need to continue to let him and not lose faith.  God will use me if I have faith in him and each day he is with me.

Dear God please continue to show me your mercy.  I know I do not deserve your mercy, but I pray that you continue to show me it.  I am an unfaithful servant, but I pray that you teach me to be faithful.  I cannot do anything without tainting it with my sinful ways, but yet you still love me.  Dear Lord I pray that you be with me and I pray that you be with my friends and family.  They need you just as much as I need you.  I pray Lord that you use me for your purpose and will.  You have designed me and made me and created me and I pray that you use me for your good purpose.  Be with me all the days of my life and continue to pursue me always.  Teach me to pursue you always in everything I do.  I pray that I put you first in my life and that you are with me where ever I am.  Be with me always.  You alone lord are my provider.  You always provide for me.

In your Holy name; Amen.

Luke 11:9-10

Ok..so I was going through Romans, but I think I'm going to change this and just pick a verse for the week/day..and reflect.

Luke 11:9-10 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

Incorporating God into our lives may not always seem easy, but I think that it is completely necessary.  He is everywhere and he loves each of us in a way that is incomprehensible.  In everything we do we need to find a way to praise and give the all of the glory it God.  From when we are doing homework, walking into our home after a long day of work, driving in our cars, sitting outside watching the sun go down, or hanging out with friends, take the time in your day to stop what you are doing if even only for a moment to thank God for all the wonderful things he has done in your life.  He is always there, where ever you are, whatever you are doing, all we need to do is answer him.

Light Unto My Path

Romans 1:9-10  For God whom I serve in my Spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness to how unceasingly  make mention of you, always in my prayers making requests if perhaps now at last by the will of God may I succeed in coming to you.

Will Not Sleep

Romans 1:8 First I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world.

Go Seahawks!

So today we Washingtonians get to enjoy a nice 10 O'clock football game of the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Chicago Bears.  Now, I know that there is a very slight chance that the Seahawks are going to win, but there is always hope!!  :) The verse for today is:

Romans 1:7  To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints:  Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:5-6

Romans 1:5-6  Through him and for his name's sake, we received grace and apostlship to call people from among all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith.  And you also are among those who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.

Hello and Welcome to 144,000_sealed. This Community is going to start by going through Romans 1.  We will take it verse by verse and breakdown the true meaning of God's Word.  Everyday will be a new post with a new verse.  Feel free to be yourself, nobody will judge you here.

Romans 1:1-4  Paul a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God -- the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding his son, who as to his human nature was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to the son of God by his resurrection from the dead:Jesus Christ our Lord!
